One of the most common concerns with oils - especially those rich in Omega 3s - is oxidation. Once oils oxidize, they lose nutritional value, become harder to digest, and can even become harmful over time. But not all oils are created the same.

At Canine India, we take a radically different approach to ensure our Salmon and Emu oils stay stable, fresh, and nutrient-rich, without the use of synthetic preservatives.

Here’s why ours don’t go rancid (and if they did trust us, you would smell it immediately!):

1. Small-batch, fresh extraction

Our oils are extracted in small, batches from fresh, flash-frozen Norwegian salmon and pasture-raised emu fat. This minimizes exposure to air, light, and temperature fluctuations which are the main causes of oxidation.

2. Naturally rich in antioxidants

Both Salmon and Emu oil contain natural tocopherols (Vitamin E) and other antioxidants, which help preserve their stability. Emu oil also contains oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that resists oxidation far better than polyunsaturated fats.

3. No industrial refining

Industrial refining processes - including bleaching, deodorizing, or high-heat treatment - strip oils of their protective nutrients and accelerate rancidity. We skip all that. Our oils are gently rendered to preserve their protective compounds that keep the oil stable and nutritious as nature intended.
