Here are a few quick answers to things you might be wondering if you are new here and below you can find more detailed information!
Our foods are safe for puppies and kittens as soon as they’re weaned. In fact, introducing real, species-appropriate food early on helps building a strong, healthy foundation.
If your pet tends to gobble their chews, we always recommend choosing a larger chew - something too big to swallow or break easily.
And as always, supervision is key while they’re chewing.
If you’d like to test things out first, you can try our sample sizes or assortments to see what your pet enjoys most.

Air-dried foods (Pan-India):
We ship all air-dried foods across India in safe, airtight packaging.
- Standard Shipping (Free above ₹2,000): Your order is freshly packed and shipped within a maximum of 3 days from ordering.
- Air Shipping (Express): Your order is prioritized, packed faster, and shipped via the quickest available option for an additional fee.

Raw & Home-cooked foods:
These are freshly prepared per order and may take up to 5 days to be ready.
- Delivery is done by us personally within Chennai.
- For other locations, please contact us so we can arrange customized delivery options at raw@canineindia.in.
*Please note: Deliveries may be delayed during holidays, or times of natural calamities like heavy monsoons or landslides due to affected courier service operations.
Don’t worry! If we made a mistake we will of course make it right!
If you can not find an item you ordered in your box or receive a damaged box, please take a photo with the box and delivered items including the labels (front side) and a picture of the bill right away and send it to orders@canineindia.in.
Please understand that we can only accept this information up to 48 hours after delivery.
Firstly, worry not if you realise right away – we’ve got you covered!
Please call our customer care number +91-8838326932 as soon as you can within the working hours (10 AM - 6PM - Monday to Saturday, excluding holidays) and inform us of the needed changes. Please be quick with checking your info!
If you happen to inform us once your order is shipped, we will still try to correct the information, if we are not able to do so, the order will be returned to us.
In that case we will send a new package to you for which we have to ask a nominal amount i.e. Rs. 400, since we are charged double fees for return shipments as well as we have to pack the order again.

To replace/remove products or add anything new to your order, please contact our customer support team here. We will share a link for any additional payment if required, and modify your order accordingly. In case the substitution is of a lower price than the original item in the order, a gift card worth the amount difference will be issued.
Please note that modifications can only be made before the order is packed.
We gently air dry in custom-made machines that keep the temperatures low and steady over days or even up to two weeks for some items! Everything we use is farm- or ocean fresh, always stored cool and hand prepared!
It’s most important to store your Canine India goodies away from moisture as specified on the pouch.
If you did store some of our food in the fridge, don't store it outside again as the temperature fluctuations could spoil it.
Our supplements and meals can be stored in a cupboard for long periods of time easily.
Our treats and small chews stay well as long as they're kept away from humidity for a couple of months.
For bigger bones we suggest the freezer or you can wrap them in a cloth / paper towel and keep it in a cool dry place as well.
After something has been chewed on, it's best to wrap it in a cloth and leave in a well circulated place or pop it in the freezer.
Slow is key! Just keep in mind how dense in nutrition our foods are, and introduce slowly. If your pet is new to this kind of food, or has a sensitive digestion, introducing new foods slowly is important.
If you're seeing some changes in digestion, give them a day or two. It's a normal process where they're learning how to absorb all the nutrients.
Chewing for around 20-30 minutes is a good place to start. If your pet likes to chew for longer that's completely fine.
If this is your first time giving a chew, the gums might show some scratches similar to when getting a dental scaling. That is nothing to worry about!
Alternating between different chews can help keep her/him excited and clean the teeth from different angles.
Dogs and cats instinctively know how to chew, but if they’re very eager chewers or haven’t tried meat or bones before, they may tend to bite off bigger chunks than they should, so in these cases we suggest the following:
Hold one end of the chew while your pup first tries a chew. Let your pup lick, start to taste the chew and hold it until they begin chewing on it. Repeat this a couple of times with their first chew, and watch them carefully to make sure they are accustomed to chewing before swallowing.

All our dehydrated foods are air-dried at steady and comparatively low temperatures over long periods of time. Since most raw produce contains a large percentage of moisture/water, it gets a lot lighter when dried.
As the nutrition is retained inside the food but moisture is let go, the Canine India food is so very filling even if it looks like it’s not a lot. You can go by the basic rule that everything you get from us is about 3-4 times as filling as it seems due to the process we use.
Everything is an average based rule – please adapt to your pets individual needs as you wish.
It's not necessary to rehydrate. You can feed our food any way you and your pet prefer! Straight from the pouch, soaked in water or other liquid, mixed with other food or frozen into toys – there’s no limit to your creativity!
It is never too early to feed real good food! With Canine India food, when their jaw is able to munch it then they are ready to eat it.
The younger they are, the better it is to introduce them to different foods to make sure they grow strong and have the right nutrients to develop into strong, resilient adults.
Feeding a variety of textures and proteins will make for a strong start in life. Just remember to introduce everything slowly!
Feeding more minerals can lead to harder stool, which can even look slightly white. That just means not all nutrients have been absorbed but your pet's body is learning. If the stool is a bit dark and soft, that just means excessive vitamins are being flushed out. Same thing, that just means your pet's body is learning to absorb it all. Just keep going and you'll see the poop getting better.
Firstly don’t worry. It might take them a moment to take to the new food since it's all natural and doesn't have any added flavours.
You can serve the food they are apprehensive about with something else they usually like to eat or just plain and simple – play with the new food to get their interest up!
Rehydrating or crumbling it changes the texture in case your pet has a special preference!
The tartar would definitely scrape off from chewing harder bones - once a week at least to get rid of the build up. In combination with boneless chews for flossing and polishing, the teeth will be cleaned thoroughly.
Chewing increases blood flow in the gums as well so the first time especially if there is some tartar to remove, the gums might get some scratches. That's totally fine just like when you get a dental scaling.

Of course! An all vegetarian diet can’t fulfil all nutritional needs of dogs and cats, so incorporating meat-based protein even in small quantities is a major health benefit. You can boost your pet’s diet in different ways. For example: try our food toppers or meals to add on to the bowl or let them have a natural chew. There's plenty of options that don't have to look like meat :)

Nope, no Diet Charts as such - it is all about understanding your Pets needs and not an average based excel sheet copy and paste job. We are however happy to help you understand a Diet chart you received or want to reevaluate.

Once you select your consultation and complete the payment here, you will receive an email with a link to schedule your session. You can also use your booking code to access your Manage Bookings page and schedule any upcoming consults.
You can reach out for clarifications or send updates within 30 days of your consultation over email. If needed you can also book a follow up session.
With each consultation session you get a discount on a follow up session which you may or may not book according to your needs!
Sorry, all consultations are non-refundable. You can reschedule your session once, but it needs to be done at least 24 hours before the booked timing.

Freshness and hygiene are extremely important to us!
After preparing your furry’s required raw and / or home cooked foods, we use our state-of-the-art blast freezer to chill everything rapidly. Within 24 hours the frozen food is carefully packed in cold-retaining boxes and cooled further with dry ice or cold packs depending on the delivery location and mode.
Yes, we do! We are able to provide deliveries to most cities in the south and central region of India. Deliveries outside of Chennai are done with railway or bus, meaning you might have to collect the delivery from a station. Our home cooked meals are made in small batches once your order is placed - this means it can take up to 5 days to make, freeze and pack everything.
Our raw meats are also freshly sourced for you and cleaned, cut and frozen as per your requirement. This process can take up to 3 days.
After processing and packing everything we personally deliver within a day or two in Chennai or get the box on its way in the agreed upon transport mode while keeping you posted.
We are happy to deliver regularly according to your schedule so you always have a full freezer when you need it! Just reach out at raw@canineindia.in.
Yes, absolutely! We can cook meals or customize raw grinds according to your pets needs and deliver them ready to feed! If you are interested in this - please reach out to raw@canineindia.in.
We partner with carefully-vetted local farms in South India where the animals live free-range on a species-appropriate diet, to ensure the best quality and highest nutrient content. We also double check with random lab tests to ensure the purity and quality of produce.
Our fish and shellfish is always freshly caught on small boats off the coast of Chennai. Only the norwegian salmon is an exception here.

Based on your pet’s preference, you can warm it up slightly by adding some hot water or other liquid or toppers or just feed straight as is.

Think of Paw Points as a sort of currency. You can earn Paw Points by shopping on our website, following us on Instagram, signing up for our newsletter etc. Once you collect enough points, you will be able to redeem them for exclusive discounts!
The easiest way to earn Paw Points is to shop from our website! You will earn 1 Paw Point for every 10 rupees you spend. For example, if you place an order for INR 5000, that’s 500 Paw Points for you!
